Brandigator privacy statement

Version: 8 October 2026 · This is a translation for convenience. The Dutch version is the binding one.

Brandigator helps businesses become more visible in Google, Maps and AI answers. When you visit our website, request a free visibility scan or get in touch, we sometimes process personal data. Here you can read what data that is and what we do with it.

1. Who is responsible?

Brandigator, Volmerlaan 5, 2288 GC Rijswijk, the Netherlands, Chamber of Commerce 94369488, VAT NL005079240B06, is the controller for the processing described in this statement. For questions or requests about privacy, email john@brandigator.nl.

2. What data do we process, and why?

Requesting a scan. You can enter your website or Google Maps link, the town you operate in, your name and your email address. You may also share, voluntarily, your company name, what you offer, the searches you want to rank for, your competitors, a phone number and any further notes. We use that data to handle your request, research your business and explain the outcome to you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to a business request you submitted; where you are a party to an agreement yourself, performance of that agreement may also be the basis.

Contact and chat. If you email us or use the chat on the website, we process your email address, your message and any data you send along with it, in order to answer your question. The chat is not a live chat: your message reaches us through the form and we reply by email. If sending automatically does not work, your own email program opens a message to Brandigator; in that case an email is only sent once you send it yourself. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering your question or, where appropriate, the preparation or performance of an agreement.

Services to clients. For an engagement we process business contact details, correspondence, agreements, invoicing data and whatever is needed for the agreed work. We do this to perform the agreement and to meet statutory administrative obligations. Where we process personal data of a client's own customers on their behalf, we make separate processor arrangements for that where needed.

Public information for a scan. To assess visibility, we look at public information about a business, for example on its website, Google Business Profile, Maps, and publicly accessible reviews or answers. That may include names or remarks from individuals that are published at those sources. We use that information only for the analysis you requested, and we limit what we take over to what is needed for it. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in carrying out the requested scan.

Technical website use. On every visit our website host Netlify records a standard server log. It contains your IP address, the time, the page or file requested (including any parameters in the web address), the referring page, your browser and operating system (the user agent) and the status code of the response. This data is needed to deliver the website, trace faults and recognise abuse and attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, properly working website. We do not use these logs to track visitors or build profiles. By Netlify's own account they are kept for less than 30 days and then deleted automatically.

3. How does the scan form work at the moment?

What you enter in the scan form or the chat is sent through the form service of our website host, Netlify. Your data arrives in our account there, where only Brandigator can see it. If sending automatically does not work, a pre-filled email appears instead. In that case your data is only sent to us once you send that email yourself, and your own email provider processes the message as well. If we connect a different form or CRM later, we will update this statement before that processing goes live.

4. Cookies and browser storage

The current website loads no advertising pixels and no external analytics trackers. Your cookie choice is stored in your browser's local storage under `bg-toestemming`, together with the choice and the date. The site also records under `bg-terugkeer-getoond` whether the one-off return invitation has already been shown. This data stays in your browser until you clear that storage; you can change your cookie choice via Cookie preferences . This storage exists to make the site work and to remember your choice.

The statistics switch in the cookie banner is prepared, but no statistics are loaded at present. If we add measurement or marketing technology later, we will name the providers, purposes and retention periods here, and ask for consent in advance where that is required. We will not switch such technology on merely on the strength of a passage in this statement.

5. Who do we share data with?

Only people within Brandigator who are involved in your request or engagement have access. In addition, our website and email providers may process data in order to deliver their service technically. We do not sell your personal data. Beyond that we only pass data on where it is needed for an engagement, where we are legally obliged to, or where you have given permission.

Netlify. Our website runs at Netlify, Inc. in San Francisco, United States. Netlify hosts the website and receives what you enter in the scan form and the chat; those submissions sit in our Netlify account. Netlify processes this data only on our instructions, under the data processing agreement that forms part of Netlify's terms of service, which we have accepted.

Processing outside the EEA. Netlify is a US company and also processes data in the United States, so outside the European Economic Area. That transfer is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses (Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/914). They form part of our data processing agreement with Netlify and oblige Netlify to protect your data at a level appropriate to the GDPR, with suitable technical and organisational security. You can request a copy of these safeguards from us at john@brandigator.nl.

Hostnet. Our email runs through Hostnet, a Dutch hosting company; our mailboxes are held there and are not forwarded to any other service. If you email us, or choose the email route at the scan form or the chat, your message arrives there. Notifications of new submissions from Netlify also reach us in that mailbox.

We engage no other processors for the website: the site loads no external fonts, scripts, analytics tools or advertising services.

6. How long do we keep data?

We keep personal data no longer than is needed for the purpose we received it for. Correspondence and scan requests that do not lead to an engagement are deleted no later than 12 months after the last contact. That applies to the submissions in our Netlify account as well. Data belonging to a running engagement is kept for the duration of that engagement and afterwards for as long as is needed for agreements or possible disputes. Data that forms part of our basic tax records is kept for the statutory period of 7 years. Your cookie choice and return status stay locally in your browser until you clear that storage.

7. Your rights

You can ask us what personal data we hold about you. You can also ask us to correct or delete data, to restrict processing, to object to processing based on our legitimate interest, or — where applicable — to transfer your data. Where you have given consent for something, you can withdraw it again. Email us about this at john@brandigator.nl. We respond within the statutory period; sometimes we still have to keep data, for instance for our records.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

8. Security and automated decisions

We take appropriate measures to protect personal data and limit access to those who need it. We do not take decisions based on your personal data that are made solely by automated means and that have legal effects or similarly significant consequences for you.

9. Changes

If our services, forms or suppliers change, we update this statement. The date of the most recent version is shown at the top. For a significant change affecting an existing client relationship, we inform those concerned where that is needed.
